Mom's Experiment: Jellyflan

This isn't actually my work but my mom's 😊 I just assisted her like beating the egg and doing the mixure. Since we are still on quarantine and nothing much to do at home we did a little experiment on combining gelatin and leche flan. My mom saw this online, let's see if we will be able to pull it off.

My mom first prepared the sugar syrup. She made it in a separate pan and transfer it in separate containers. Just make sure to spread it right away to cover all sides. In here we forgot that the fan is facing our table thus hardened the syrup righr away.

While mom is doing the gelatin...

I was preparing the egg mixture. Beat the egg until solid particles are gone then add condesed milk, evap and vanilla. Stir more and drain.

Once gelatin is ready add the mixture and stire it for 10 mins to boil...

After boiling remove it from the stove and transfer to the container where the sugar syrup is and cool down..

Chill and serve 😊

The sugar is supposed to be darker but we since we don't have brown sugar available we used wash sugar instead which made the color lighter.

It tastes the same just like a leche flan but not too sweet, and the texture is solid because of the gelatin. This is easier to make compare to a regular leche flan, no need to steam.

If you are at home craving for some sweets and you have nothing to do, try this and you'll love it.
